    Mv Liemba

Liemba was built in Germany in 1913 under the name "Graf von Goetzen" at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg intended for cargo and passenger service on Lake Tanganyika. After completion, the ship was removed again and all the pieces up to 160,000 ribbons were packed in 5,000 boxes and carried on a large ship to Dar es Salaam. It arrived in 1914 shortly before the start of the first world war. 3 technicians from Papenburg accompanied the shipping boxes by rail to Kigoma. Here all parts of the ship were reassembled with the help of 250 African and 20 Indian workers. Tar. 5 February 1915 "Graf von Goetzen" was introduced into the waters of Lake Tanganyika.

    Ngorongoro National Park

Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Ngorongoro District, 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha City in Arusha Region, within the Crater Highlands geological area of northeastern Tanzania. The area is named after Ngorongoro Crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority administers the conservation area, an arm of the Tanzanian government, and its boundaries follow the boundary of the Ngorongoro District in Arusha Region. The western portion of the park abuts the Serengeti National Park, and the area comprising the two parks and Kenya's Maasai Mara game reserve. Ngorongoro is home to Great Migration, a massive annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and other animals. The conservation area also contains Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world.

    Mahale National Park

Mahale Mountains National Park lies on the eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika in Uvinza District of Kigoma Region, Tanzania. Named after the Mahale Mountains range that is within its borders, the park has several unusual characteristics. First, it is one of only two protected areas for chimpanzees in the country. (The other is nearby Gombe Stream National Park made famous by the researcher Jane Goodall.) Mahale Mountains National Park harbours the largest known population of eastern chimpanzees and due to its size and remoteness, the chimpanzees flourish. It also a place where chimpanzees and lions co-exist. Another unusual feature of the park is that it is one of the very few in Africa that must be experienced by foot. There are no roads or other infrastructure within the park boundaries, and the only way in and out of the park is via boat on the lake.

    Mt Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in Tanzania. With three volcanic cones Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira it is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world: 5,895 m (19,341 ft) above sea level and 4,900 m (16,100 ft) above its plateau base. It is also the highest volcano in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Kilimanjaro is the fourth most topographically prominent peak on Earth. It is part of Kilimanjaro National Park and is a major hiking and climbing destination. Because of its shrinking glaciers and ice fields, which are projected to disappear between 2025 and 2035, it has been the subject of many scientific studies.
